Class Rules
*NEW* Fast Road versus Open Class as of the 2013 Season
The committee has introduced a new system to help sort cars into the Fast Road and Open classes. The explanatory statement can be found here, and the excel spreadsheet here.
Version: 2012
The MG Road Racing Championship is open to all cars of the MG marque. All competing cars must hold and conform to a current CAMS log book. MG Racers are encouraged to endeavour to have their cars comply with either the current Sports Car (2nd category) or Historic (5th category) rules as contained in the CAMS Manual of Motor Sport. This will ensure that the owners can run their cars in races other than MG. Please feel free to contact a member of the MG Racing Committee for assistance at any time.
Decisions regarding the categorisation of cars are made by the MG Racing Committee at its sole discretion.
The Committee reserves the right to nominate the appropriate Class (see below) in which each competitor accumulates points for the MG Road Racing Championship.
The Scoring System for 2012 will remain unchanged, refer here for the scoring system.
To be eligible for outright points a competitor must be a member of any MG Car Club.
Outright points can not be aggregated if a driver changes class with the same vehicle.
A competitor who uses two or more cars in different classes can not aggregate outright points.
A competitor who uses two or more cars in the same class can aggregate outright points.
For the purposes of the MG Road Racing Championship, competing cars will be classified as belonging to one of the following Classes:
