For those of us in the southern area, since Moorabbin Airport
lost the ability to sell us AVGAS, it has been a hassle to troupe
out to Dandenong or Sunshine to buy it.
JSP the suppliers have now appointed an agent in McKinnon. This is
the SOFAIR Service Station at 100 McKinnon Road, McKinnon.
The chap who sells it is LEN on 0411 888 548. He is a hell of a nice
guy & cannot be more helpful. The cost is $3 a litre in 20 litre
drums. Unlike JSP he cannot decant it into your drums/containers so
there is a $15 deposit on the drums returnable when you return them
or swap for more fuel. All drums are sealed under the screw cap.
He offers AVGAS, E85, 105 Octane petrol and 100 octane unleaded. Be
careful what you ask for!! He also suggested if there is a race
meeting coming up you ring him in advance so he can make sure he has
enough. He says he buys smaller lots to keep it fresh!
